“IdeaMurals: a Graphical Interface for Supporting Ideation in Public Policy Knowledge Work” Paper

I chose to read the “IdeaMurals: a Graphical Interface for Supporting Ideation in Public Policy Knowledge Work” paper because of my interest in exploring the creativity and enhancing it to bring forth ideas. The paper discusses that “creativity” is often hidden in public policy because of its mass text-based knowledge representation. Because of this, it is sometimes difficult to explain “creativity and innovation” due to it “hiding n large amounts of text.”

IdeaMurals had two goals. 1) It first wanted to find a way to express “creativity and innovation” in a field like public policy. 2) Second it also wanted to determine how graphical visualizations can enhance the “ideation process of policy work”

Overall, this paper was quite interesting in understanding how a certain field like public policy which is heavily text based, can be brought forth with IdeaMurals to help develop ideas creatively and with innovation to support “ideation in public policy”.
